EDiR Training Evaluation For Training Institutions

The EDiR Training Evaluation is a self-assessment test aimed to review the fundamentals of general radiology.

This is an online evaluation via remote proctoring software, which can be taken at the hospital or from home (see technical requirements below).

It is the perfect tool for:

  • Radiology trainees thinking of applying for the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR).
  • Radiologists who would like to review the fundamentals of general radiology.
Please note that the content of this evaluation corresponds to level I of the ESR European Training Curriculum for Radiology (pages 9 to 53).
  • Heads of Training wishing to monitor the progress of their residents.
Your residents will be evaluated in different categories and you will receive an anonymised report covering the areas of deficiency.
Your residents will get instant results (pass/fail and average score) and a detailed report on their performance (results classified by subspecialty area) via email.

Candidates must be in at least the second year of their national radiology training programme.

Android 5.1+ and iOS 10.0+ smart devices – smartphone or tablet – with a camera are supported. Check your operating system here by using your smartphone. Note: Huawei P30, Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), Google Pixel 3 and newer are not compatible with our app. Please make sure that your device is connected to a power supply. During the evaluation, your smartphone should be connected to your WiFi but in Airplane Mode. This way, proctors may contact you through WhatsApp if any technical problems may occur. Kindly note, that enabling Airplane Mode always disables Wi-Fi. However, on most devices, you can re-enable Wi-Fi after turning on Airplane Mode.

A good internet connection is required and we recommend you use an ethernet cable to ensure a more stable connection. We recommend a minimum of 1,5 Mbps upload, ping under 25 ms. Check your internet speed here.

The EDiR Training Evaluation Working Group has been established to fulfil two functions:

  • to develop this new project
  • to set up a database for this new self-assessment.

All its members are or have been on an EDiR committee and, in some cases, they have also organised the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) at their hospitals in their capacity as Heads of Training.
