EFRS – Exam introduction – Radiotherapy

WHAT IS IT?

Success in the examination will attest a standard of knowledge deemed equivalent to the knowledge-based learning outcomes of the EFRS European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 6 Benchmarking Document for Radiographers (2018).

The examination takes place in a single, 90-minute sitting. Knowledge of radiography will be tested in two components:

  • Part 1 (Core knowledge based on the EFRS EQF Level 6 Benchmarking Document) will make up the first 50% of the examination content.
  • Part 1 (Core knowledge based on the EFRS EQF Level 6 Benchmarking Document) will make up the first 50% of the examination content.

Each section will consist of: Multiple choice questions (MCQs), Multiple response questions (MRQs) and short answer questions (SAQs).

The examination will take place in London at the University of London, Tait Building, Northampton Square, London EC1V 0HB.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In order to be able to register for the EFRS Diploma of Radiography, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must be fully qualified to work as a radiographer in their country.
  • They must have completed radiography education and training and be officially recognised to practice in their country.

Candidates will be asked to send the following documentation in English:

  • A proof of initial qualification in radiography indicating the duration of radiography education and the area of study (must be Radiotherapy), issued by the candidates’ educational institution.
  • Confirmation that they are officially recognised to practice in their country based on their registered area of practice (if regulated in your country) or a proof provided by their current employing hospital/institution.
  • For discounted fees, a proof of the candidates’ national radiography society membership or confirmation that they are a current postgraduate student or staff member in an EFRS Educational Wing Institution. A proof of current ESR membership for further discount.
  • A scanned copy of the passport.

EXAMINATION FEES:

The fee for an EFRS Diploma in Radiography examination is:

  • €150 for candidates affiliated with an EFRS member society or EFRS educational institution.
  • €300 for candidates without an EFRS affiliation.
  • An additional discount of 20% for ESR members.
